Liberton High school pupils earn a slap up reward!

Twelve lucky youngsters at Liberton High School received a home economics lesson from celebrity chef Gerry Goldwyre, who is a former pupil of the school.

This five star meal was a reward for the 40 children and staff who had fasted for 24 hours to raise £800 for charity.

The children choose a different charity every year, with this year's deserving cause being the Scottish Downs Syndrome Association.

The first and second year children were involved in all stages of the meal, from preparation right through to serving the meal to the superstars who had gone hungry to benefit those less fortunate than themselves.

The exciting menu of cheese and chilli jam, vegetarian pasta with chilli, garlic, spinach and parmesan was rounded off with a delicious white chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries.
