Local Lad Hopes to Strike Gold

Good luck to local lad William Amos who has been selected to take part in the British Games and will play football for the Lothian Special Olympic Team in Cardiff 2001.

William has already appeared in the Olympic Games for Great Britain and has been training with the Scottish team this year.

William would like to thank the following people, for without their help, he would not have been in a position to attend the British Games.

Jimmy Stewart & Son (roofing), Jackie Mitchell (Roofing), Joe Macnamara, Keith Robertson, Ricky Gargaro (Spex Optician), Ron Abrahams (Dry Cleaners), Barry Mackinnon (Newhaven Blacksmiths) and Tommy Simpson and customers.

Thanks to all who sponsored, supported and encouraged William.

We are sure that all Echo readers would like to wish William the very best of luck.
