All the colours of the
rainbow
Gracemount Ibex
Gymnastics Club were invited to promote the recent Gymfest display which
was held at Meadowbank Sports Centre recently. Performing their dramatic
"All the Colours of the Rainbow" show, the girls performed at Safeway, Ferry Road, and handed out leaflets for the May holiday Gymfest bonanza, sponsored by
Safeway. This is the first time the club has been invited to take part in what is the largest festival of its kind in the UK, and were delighted to be part of the 1,100 gymnasts who took part over the
weekend. Gymnasts from all over the British Isles performed in the rolling and tumbling programme of
events. The club is going from strength to strength and were delighted to receive funding of £2,000 from the South Edinburgh
Partnership. Avril Mackenzie, coach, told the Echo:
"With all the fundraising and the grant from the Partnership, we have been able to invest in some, much needed new equipment. We have a new training bar and a tumble run for club use." The Club will be holding their 12th Annual Championships on Sunday 10 June in Gracemount
Leisure Centre. Call Avril Mackenzie on 440 1535 for further information.
