Money for old hair!
The ladies at the Liberton Rugby Club hand over a cheque for £2500 to Margaret Bremner, of the Western General
Hospital.
A group of friends from Liberton have raised an amazing £2500 for breast cancer, after one of the ladies was diagnosed with the condition. The fundraising took part on one of the ‘ladies nights’ (once a month on a Thursday) at the Liberton Rugby Club. The ladies had a great night, with a disco, karaoke, a raffle, and 2 sisters were sponsored to have their heads shaved (pictured). The money will go to the Western General Hospital; to be shared between ward 1, where patients have their chemotherapy, ward 6 where the
mastectomy operations take place and the Elaine Darling Fund. The Fund is available to all women with breast cancer, to help with the cost of anything that will improve their quality of life, from a wig, a
post-mastectomy bra or even just a taxi home after they’ve been given a diagnosis. A big thank you to the staff at the Western General and everyone involved in the
fundraising. Kate Murdoch
