AWARD FOR SENET

At a time when World affairs are bringing racism and prejudice to the forefront once more, the City of Edinburgh Council are proud to announce the winners of The Standard Life Edinburgh Education Awards 2001.

The Awards highlighted a number of projects across the city, including projects at Liberton Primary and Secondary Schools and Kingsinch School. While all these projects were held in high regard, SENET at Gilmerton Community Centre was given a high commendation in the Best Use of IT section for their community learning project.

SENET allows people to gain low-cost access to the Internet and find out about multi-media technology while developing their own online skills.

SENET tries to break down these barriers offering local people a familiar community environment that they can feel at ease in.
