The Liberton Community Council, which was set up in
February, now has its full complement of Office Bearers.

The Council's agendas are posted in the Liberton
Gardens Post Office and ScotMid at Gracemount. Minutes of the meetings
are available in the Liberton Medical Centre, 65 Liberton Gardens and
from the Manager's Office at ScotMid in Gracemount.
The Community Council's area includes Alnwickhill,
Gracemount, Howdenhall and Mortonhall. We meet alternately in the
Gracemount Youth and Community Centre and the Liberton Kirk Halls. All
Council meetings are open to the public.
The Community Council's job is to present your views
to the City Council and other bodies. As part of this representation the
Council has a Planning Sub-Committee and a Youth Committee, which is
currently looking into youth facilities in the area. To date, the
Council has been involved in a number of local issues including, but not
restricted to, cleansing, police matters, shopping facilities and
transport.
As a Council we are still in our infancy, but with
your help we can grow into a useful voice and watchdog for the
community.
