The maximum grant award from the Small Grants Scheme is £2,500.

Applications for the second round of the Small Grants Scheme are invited from community and voluntary groups/organisations who operate in the South Edinburgh SIP area.

The timescale for this round is as follows:-

* Closing Date for Applications - 1st August 2001

* South Edinburgh SIP Small Grants Scheme Panel Meeting - 8 August 2001

* South Edinburgh SIP Board Meeting - 21 August 2001

Groups and organisations who submit an application for this round of the Small Grants Scheme should note that it is unlikely that they will receive notification of the result of their application until mid September 2001.

Introducing some new Changes

The Partnership would like to inform groups of the introduction of some new, and hopefully welcome changes in respect of the Small Grants Scheme:-

* The Small Projects Fund will now be known as the Small Grants Scheme;

* New Information packs will be disseminated to all applicants in an effort to assist them to complete their applications to meet the requirements of the South Edinburgh Partnership;

* Small Grants Scheme Surgeries will be introduced.

The purpose of the surgeries is to provide an opportunity for groups/organisations to obtain impartial advice and assistance in completing their application forms, prior to submitting them to the Partnership.

The surgery will be organised by Ian Brooke of the South Edinburgh Voluntary Sector Support Project. If you would like help and assistance in completing a SIP Small Grants Application Form please contact Ian Brooke on 468 8145.
