Making our area better

Prestonfield Area Forum is a newly formed organisation in Prestonfield and consists of individuals and representatives from the following groups -:

Prestonfield After School Care Club, Prestonfield Bowling Club, Prestonfield Neighbourhood Project, Prestonfield Primary School, Prestonfield Primary School Board, Cameron House Community Education Centre, Junior Youth Member, Senior Youth Member, Priestfield Church, SIP Board Members, VSSU Development Worker (non voting), CEC Elected Member ( non voting) Lothian & Borders Police (non voting).

The purpose of the Forum is-:

To discuss and make decisions on Strategic Programme issues for feeding into SIP Board Agenda Items.

To give the SIP Board members a venue to report to and from.

To enable Groups to brief each other on current work, to share information useful to those living and working in the area, to make the most of funding opportunities which present themselves and to discover areas of joint working.

Prestonfield is a member of the Strategic Programme Social Inclusion Partnership and the Board member has recently resigned. As a result a new Board member is required. To that end, anyone living, working or playing an active role in one of the Community Organisations who is interested in being proposed as a SIP Board representative is invited to attend the next Forum meeting, where a new representative or representatives will be elected.

The next Forum Meeting takes place on Thursday 30th August 2001 at 7pm in Prestonfield Neighbourhood Centre.
