Life Saving ' Message in a Bottle'

Older and vulnerable people throughout the area are being encouraged to pick up a SAFELINK bottle, in which you can place life-saving information, including details on medical conditions.

They are available from doctors’ surgeries, chemists, libraries, post offices and other community centres. The bottles, which have already saved lives in Perth and Kinross, have a form inside, to record any illnesses and allergies, your doctor’s details and contact details for your next of kin or carer.

They even ask about your pets (so as they can be looked after in the event of an emergency).

The forms are available in Braille, tape, large print, and various community languages, upon request. Put the bottle in your fridge, and use the stickers to let the emergency services know it’s there, should a situation arise where you are unable to give them the information they need.
